Empress 1908 gin. It's a vividly blue gin that changes to indigo when you add acid, like lime or tonic. Pretty great flavor, and a fun party trick.
Lemon Hart & Sons Original 1804 rum. Just an amazing vanilla and coffee finish on a dark rum that pairs great with unsweetened tea.
We're all about the years this week, folks.

Tonight! More Cleveland based beers. Another Great Lakes sampler pack.
CB brewcrafters were tasting their sweet potato and marshmallow lager at teh grocery store today. I don't wanna be hatin' on Willie Wonka but keep the flavors separated. Dont put the whole dinner in the gum...or the beer

I'm fine with the sweet potato/marshmallow thing. Just don't brew a beer using those flavors. Those flavors don't belong IN the beer. Eating sweet potatos with marshmallow topping while drinking a beer is also fine but don't stick them all together

Fair enough, it was just a little misleading how you had originally worded it.

Tonight! Brindle Haus microbrewery. Local place just opened last year. Not bad. Not great but not bad. I brought an empty growler, hoping to find a brew that I could enjoy for the rest of this long weekend, but no...Nothing really floats my boat there. Dog friendly and feel free to bring in your own food but no beers that are worth a second visit. Maybe when they take some of the ipa's off the menu and start in the marzen styes will I go back. Sour beers and double ipa's might be nice for the...others, but not me.

I'm not digging this big IPA trend either. I had never had one until my first trip to California. There, it was EVERYWHERE. And if you have a night of drinking at least 5-6 of them.. expect to be burping, tasting, and smelling pine needles the whole next day.

Hallelujah, speak it bro. I am so sick of this IPA "trend". India Pale Ales were apparently developed that way so they could withstand the ship voyage from Britain to India. There's no need currently for beers to taste like that. I like beers that taste good, a good Hefe or Amber or Brown ale or Belgian White or porter/stout (no longer a fan of Guiness unless it's done with cider as a black velvet).Jizaboz wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 8:12 amI'm not digging this big IPA trend either. I've been really into snakebites lately (cider+beer), trying different brands together. Tonight it's Angry Orchard Crisp + Blue Moon Belgian White.
