Tonight! Elliot Ness amber ale. Made in Ohio, but not Cincinnati, Ben. They make a steady brew in Cleveland.

Ever since we moved to Ohio, our fridge has been STOCKED with Great Lakes Brewing choices. They are all great. Even the Eliot Ness, and I usually hate ambers.

Commodore Perry, though, that's the shit breh.

Burning River is not an IPA, and it is one of the few I have left to try. This week!

Oh yeah, it's a pale ale, not an India Pale Ale. Why does it always have to be about race with you?

Kidding!

I've tried it and it's not bad. Dortmunder Gold is better but they never set a river on fire just to name that beer.

I've had two Dortmunders today, in fact. Quality! Fuck, I wish we'd moved to Cleveland.

I hear you can get cheap NBA tickets there, too.

Tonight! Rocktoberfest by Three Heads Brewing.. and then I moved on to cosmopolitans by Smirnoff and Ocean Spray. Vacation! It's the Perseids meteor things and I'm ready with my trusty telescope and cocktails. Funny thing is, if you zoom way in on say, Mars, it looks like a pale red dot in the sky. A blurry pale red dot in the sky that keeps moving on you. Might as well be some kind of vision test which I fail miserably. Then the marskeechios are out in force sucking me dry, not in a good way either. Have to retire to air conditioning and refreshments. If this keeps up I might not be awake to see the meteors. Eh, I couldn't document the meteor shower anyhoo so what good would it be? Video or it didn't happen, or something like that. But it's not from lack of trying! Sad part is I could link to a Youtube video and see better footage of what I'm trying to stay up for tonight!

Went to a local burger joint/bar last night with two of my best friends. We drank a variety of local beers (Anthems and 405 Brewing) and had a great time. By the end of the night there were only three tables of customers -- the three of us, a couple right next to us, and a table with 8 bros and hoes. Everything happened really quickly. About 15 'til close, I heard the sound of glasses breaking as they hit the floor. Chairs went flying and one of the tables toppled over. I didn't see any fists swinging; it was more shoving and chest bumping with grunting guys and a bunch of girls yelling "kick his ass, Larry!" We had already paid our bill but stuck around for the show. The frat boys split before the cops arrived. My friend is a fireman, ans so eventually we ended up in the parking lot talking to the cops for 15-20 minutes. All in all it was a great night!

Free shows in teh monkey house as we used to call them. There was a restaurant open 24 hours called The Princess that we'd go for breakfast after the bars closed. There were more pushy-pushy fights than I care to count in that place at 3am. Drunk bearded tattoo assholes proclaming testosterone dominance over scrambled eggs and rashers of early morning bacon.

The 1968 film Hellfighters has John Wayne, in what was arguably one of his better performances playing Chance Buckman, an oil well firefighter who is called in to Malaysia over a poison gas well fire. He and his crew are visiting Madam Loo's, a saloon and gambling joint as well as a thinly disguised brothel. He runs into an Australian crew working for him, and says if they keep drinking that heavily they'll be so sloused they'll be of no use to him. The man informs him that he thinks they know their limits. Chance says to him, "there's just one thing; there's only one boss!" and cold-cocks him, starting the fight.

The movie Westwood has an interesting bar brawl where everyone proceeds to trash the bar, destroying everything.

While it would be presumptuous for me to speak for Aardvark, I think what he meant was, he had never seen a bar fight "in person." I'm pretty sure he has seen them portrayed in film and on television. Aardvark, if you have never seen a bar fight in film or on television, please feel free to correct me.

Its The Commander that's never seen one in person. While I've never been involved in any, I've seen my share of bar fights.
