Alien Covenant

Post by pinback »

I thought it was pretty good. 1 and 2 are obviously the best, 3 and 4 are obviously the worst, and Prometheus and Covenant are in that middlin' area between 'em.

Did this just come out? Is it out NOW?

There's like a billion movies I want to see right now - The Quiet Place, Deadpool 2, Solo, Avengers: Sigh, Rampage and now an ALIEN movie??

We've had it DVRed for many months, but just got a chance to see it (over the course of the weekend, with multiple child-related stoppages.)

Ah hell nah man that shit is garbage. I wanted to like it but it just wasn't happening. I still dig the Alien: Isolation game and even Prometheus despite the horrible character motivation flaws though.

Hmm. Well, we all have our own point of view, that's what makes the BBS so great!

OK, grabbing it and I will settle the tie here. We take a vote.

"Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled." Michael Crichton

(I couldn't find the quote from the psychologist in Sunshine about voting.)

- We'll have a vote.
- No, no.
No, we won't.
We are not a democracy.
We're a collection of astronauts
and scientists.
So we're gonna make the most
informed decision available to us.

On one hand, it sucks that Harvey forced his way out of the airlock. On the other hand, what happened to him was hilarious. Ha ha ha!

I am glad Searle got to look at the sun. Spoiler. Also, the OP for this thread has everything wrong:

He hated Mace and thinks Searle might still be alive.

Deadpool 2

7-11 is running a number of tie-ins with Deadpool 2 that they take advantage of his snarky attitude. One consisted of Slurpee cups where "Slur" was scribbled over. I think someone at 7-11 corporate might have realized that was a little too irreverent, and retired those.

Ever since I started using cups at night for disposal of my rented sodas, I considered using Slurpee cups for that reason.
Alan Francis wrote a book containing everything men understand about women. It consisted of 100 blank pages.

I see that this forum now just inlines text from Reddit. That ... that's interesting.
