One more week till my western vacation.
Halloween decorations are out. Putting the summer away till next year.

Wow, sounded so profound...

In fact, you would rather that bottle in front of you, than this old bootleg Dr. Demento tape! Or, something like that.

I drank a prickly pear margarita tonight and it was a foo-foo girly drink designed to get 21 year old college co-eds hammered without making them taste tequila.

But I tried one. Won't have another.

There was what I presume was a fake ad showing a bunch of happy people standing around at what presumably is some sort of party, holding glasses with what is presumably an alcoholic beverage, and the caption below the picture says it all. "Gordon's gin. Liquid panty remover."

One of the reasons it's been said that taking advantage of drunk - but still conscious - girls is the attitude of men and women when waking up after a night of too much partying and find someone of the opposite sex, naked in the bed they are in, and no memory of what happened. Especially if that person is not very attractive. A man will think, "Jesus I must have drank too much, I won't do that again," realizing he let alcohol diminish his control. On the other hand, a woman usually thinks, "Oh my God, I've been raped!"

That just means I drank it and didn't care for it. There were no college co-eds getting drunk and waking up next to me. There was no drunk sex. Commander, are you replying to the right post?

I was taking it to mean you stopped after one so you'd be able to drive without risking being caught drunk driving. What I meant was, when a man wakes up from too much partying, he accepts the responsibility and blame for his predicament. A woman is too often taught to presume that if something goes wrong, it is always someone else's fault, and that she is always blameless.

i think it was Camile Paglia who pointed out the sexual revolution of the 1960s taught us that women have just as much right to be sexual as men. While she didn't say it - Spider Man was years in the future - her remarks remind me of its famous line, "With great power comes great responsibility." Paglia said that women should be free to explore their bodies, to have fun, and to explore sex if she wants to. But that also means you don't send mixed signals. If you are on a date with a guy, and you are not going to have sex with him, do not under any circumstances go to his hotel room or his home. And if you did too much drinking and wake up with some guy you don't know and realize you wouldn't have if you weren't drunk, accept that you probably had consensual sex with him - the vast majority of men are not rapists and won't sexually assault an unconscious woman - and if you're not happy about it, accept that you made a mistake, try to learn from it, and move on. Don't blame others for your mistakes.

I just read that whole post. I'm not happy about it, but I accept that I made a mistake, will try to learn from it, and will move on.

All that from one prickly pear margarita, and I thought it made me sound profound when I drink.

I have written stuff and look back on it, wondering how the hell i wrote some amazing things - both as text and computer programs - and wonder how I did it, where did the profound observation come from since I dno't drink.

Have you had anyone corroborate the judgment that what you had written was amazing?

If you count people who sell Starbust by the pound on Amazon, that's a hard yes.

Tonight! House merlot and Texas vodka. Did you know you can buy booze right in the grocery store?

Course ya did. What's wrong with New York anyway.
