Free copy of Thimbleweed Park

Post by RealNC »

You can grab a free copy of Thimbleweed Park on the Evil Games Store:

https://www.epicgames.com/store/product ... eweed-park

It does stay in your account forever, but you can only get it for free until March 7.

Neat. This is a pretty good game if you enjoyed Maniac Mansion & Monkey Island like I did. I'm maybe 3/4s done with it and need to get around to finishing it.

I think I got it on Steam. This is the way Epic can get people to install their launcher though - free games of a non arena shooter kind. I applaud them.

Turns out, their launcher is spyware.

Tim Sweeny then defended his company by saying "It's OK that we ship spyware because we don't share the data we spied off your computer":

So it's OK to spy on people as long as you don't tell others about it. Tim Sweeny logic, everybody.

Along those same lines, all those pictures I took with my telephoto lens are for personal use only, so it's cool.

Epic is a piece of shit company. Yeah, I will never let that awful fucking malware on any of my PCs. Sorry, Epic, everyone was kind of ready for a Steam competitor (I mean, not me, but I see people crying about it on Twitter) and ALL YOU HAD TO DO was not make it an entry point for Chinese nationalists and spy on your customers. Oops! Oops! Oops! Could have happened to everyone, really (but gog and Steam and EA's nonsense and so on).
