Alright so this is a personal one. Today I looked up the last person I got into an actual fight with. We shall call him.. "Smith".

This guy dated a relative of mine and was a total shithead. He was a "punk" at the time but lacked even the basic ethics of a punk. Things went sour with him and my relative and he became a harrasser and a stalker. Not in today's sense of either, but actually.

After about a year+ of his shit I accepted one of his calls on the phone and told him I'd had enough and just bring it to the church parking lot next door. No cops, bring yr boys but they are strictly spectators just as people hanging out with me at the time should be. The idiot showed up.

Rain started coming down like the into to the Ninja Gaiden arcade intro. We talked a lot of shit like a "next time on Dragon Ball Z.." moment then he faked like he was going to strike. I returned with a flurry of palm-heels to the face. We ended up slipping on the wet grass, I did the leg-throw move from street fighter 2 to end the fight, etc without getting hit.. then the guy says "I am going to kill you" and keeps grabbing for his belt area. I keep hearing what must be a knife rattling around and back up. I inform him that he's lame for whipping out a knife, turn my back and leave.

Didn't hear shit out of him after that. Whatever happened to "Smith"? Today I learned two things:

1. In 2008 (about 9 years later) he got busted for threatening people with a knife (knew that fucker had a knife) at a SCHOOL while he was way too old (at least 25) to be doing such.

2. In 2014 he died. Why? I really don't give a shit. I'm just glad my friend Paul outlived him. Good riddance.

Given that story, I actually can believe Paul outlived him.

Again, I could be led to believe that Paul would outlive him.

Yeah, Paul's farming some easy Mommies on the brain level while he's the only one moving for that first second.

Is that a sports reference? I have no idea what that means.

Since about 11:00 AM today, I've been experiencing what I can only describe as mild cardiac events. I'll deal with this in my own way, but just in case I zilch out over the next 24 hours or so, I want credit for giving my sign-off in this base.

I literally can't believe he outlived me.

All of a sudden, heart racing, short of breath, numbness in extremities. Happened a couple more times since, and now there's just a constant low-level of not-quite-right feeling.

Cardiologist in 1.25 hours.

Could be a curse placed on you by someone that didn't get ten bucks. I seen it on a Brady Bunch episode once.

Best comic strip of the year. I fucking love Bloom County, thank god berkley brethed didn't stay a lazy fuck like Bill Watterson (Calvin&Hobbes) or permanent mostly retirement like Garry Trudeau.

Since the conclusion of Calvin and Hobbes, Watterson has taken up painting, at one point drawing landscapes of the woods with his father. He has kept away from the public eye and has given no indication of resuming the strip, creating new works based on the strip's characters, or embarking on new commercial projects, though he has published several Calvin and Hobbes anthologies.
I mean. Seems pretty lazy to me. Well-earned, but yeah.
