I propose that we all go out and purchase bottles of Wild Turkey 101 in honor of pinback's father. It is the perfect all day sipper and makes for a splendid nightcap as well.

I'm in, only if everyone agrees to upload a video of them doing a shot in honor of Pinner, Sr.

Clearly Paul isn't going to upload a video since he is a lifelong teetotaler.

Dude, Pinback's dad died in 2007, stop bringing up the pain for him.

It was ICJ's idea and as such it was reasonable for me to believe that it was a good one.

I'm not an alcoholic.
I am one. Going cold turkey since Friday. Not pleasant but needs to be done.
OK, feeling better. Now time to try this thing I've heard about, "moderation".

Tonight! Moderation ends here. I'm done...messing around.

Boodles 90 proof, no floral notes. Just good old British gin like me auld grandad used to drink, innit.

Last time I had this was my honeymoon. Ended up with a ninety dollar bar tab (the wife only had one drink) At one point ( I was told) I was on the hotel room balcony in my underwear sucking the helium out of a balloon and shouting "Dave, can we go on tour, Simon and Theodore get all the hot babes!"

This afternoon!
Enjoying happy hour on my deck. It finally broke 70 degrees and I had the day off. Dishwasher installers came and went leaving me poorer but happier. The Kenmore finally died despite all my mechanical genius so we got a Maytag. There was a 2 hour delivery window but they don't tell you when that window will be open, so just take the whole day off for their convenience.

Today at S&B Burgers for lunch I had something called (I think) a cerva-rita. It was a Tecate with tequila and sweet and sour added. In my world, any recipe that calls for alcohol to be added to other alcohol is a good one. Two thumbs up.

In celebration of Cinco de Mayonnaise, I propose a Mexican version of the Irish CarBomb

Shot of tequila , with worm, salt and lime. Drop in a glass of Dos Equis and pound it down. If it gets down without teh barf it can stay. We'll call it The Immigrant.

Non-shitty tequila is a perfectly honorable spirit. I'm currently trying to come to grasps with mexcal, which just has this burnt-tire taste I can't accept.

This stuff? This is bad shit, I can understand why you'd need to drink widow's blood as a chaser.

I've also been drinking some shitty liquor over the last half of this week, I purchased various 200ml travelers of a number of legacy brands I wanted to try because of their fame but was also concerned that a full bottle would be a bit too hard to swallow. Here are the reviews.

Crown Royal Fine De Luxe: Creamy vanilla and verrrry diluted tasting, smooth as silk. Add a few more dominant tasting notes and about 5%-7% ABV and this could be a damn fine drink, but as it sits now it is the absolute best Canada has to offer and all I can say about it is it's not garbage. It got dropped in coke. 2.5/5

Jim Beam White Label: This one I had incredibly high hopes for considering how much I've fallen in love with the more aged line of products from the same distillery. Generic bourbon flavors and diluted. It got dropped in coke. 2.2/5

Jack Daniels Old No. 7: This one completely surprised me. Jack Daniels has always had a tough guy image, bikers and renegades, a real rot gut bad ass drink. The reality is the complete opposite: it tastes like banana bread and gummy bears, incredibly gentle and easy going. I heard it used to be bottled at 43%, which is a shame because I think that would have been enough for me to go back to it with a full sized bottle. 40% is just a bit too wishy-washy. 3/5

I enjoy the fact that you keep calling it Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Not just Jack Daniels or Jack but Jack Daniels Old No. 7.

That stuff was made to pour into soda. The Gentleman Jack and the Green Label versions are better, in my opinion.
or you could just drink it by yourself in a hotel bar...
