Try this one next:
15k is a bit much. I've been mainly following this guy's advice for my bourbon purchases, he hasn't steered me wrong yet:

Come on Billy, how are you going to get into the 4 W's club unless you invest?

You know, the 4 W's of accomplished men, Wheels, Whisky, Watches, and Women. Myself, I've learned that if you get the last W (Woman) first then the other three are hard to afford. But you apparently are single so it's not too late for you yet. I do however have a second of the W's I've always wanted, a fake Rolex. I used to go to NYC regularly and saw the guys selling fake watches on the street and always though it would be cool to buy a fake Rolex. Finally this year I got one, a colleague had bought a couple in Hong Kong and gave me one because I was nice about approving his invoices.

I know Jonsey has the other W, an awesome STI and most of us have the last W, woman. Paul has a fifth W, wheelchair which isn't really a great thing. How's everyone else doing with the four W's?

I think the most expensive bottle I own is Compass Box Hedonism which I purchased before Compass Box Peat Monster and after the two bottles of Compass Box Spice Tree that The Happiness Engine recommended to me. I haven't tried any of them yet. To be completely honest, while I love all whiskeys (except that filth the Canadians make, I would sooner drink piss straight from a horse's cock) I am becoming more and more enamored with the higher proofed American whiskeys.

Will you ever make the switch to beer?

Those craft beers you see everywhere with the crazy names seem pretty fun and I'll probably try some eventually, but making a switch from whiskey? No chance in hell. I love everything about whiskey.

Well, beer is much better than whiskey other than the speed at which it gets you drunk. But as a fellow alcoholic, I understand your preference.

I know, right?! Same here, man. Why can't people just let us live our lives?

Tonight! More martinis. Moving away from teh beers cause I'm all adult now and everything. Believe me?

In an unrelated note, I was going to do an Audio Crazy Doodle on Ladyhawk because I've never seen it before and it's mentioned a lot in Ready Player One. Glad I'm too lazy to grab a copy cause of the excellent Throwback Reviews episode that just came out.
Guess its Adventures In Babysitting on deck

I am one. Going cold turkey since Friday. Not pleasant but needs to be done.

I've been drinking Wild Turkey 101 since earlier today. I used to thumb my nose at it seeing it on the shelf when I first started drinking about 4 or 5 weeks ago but heard nothing but positive things about it so I went ahead and purchased a bottle and I am really impressed so far. Butterscotch disks, pears, and honey on the front end and generous amounts of spice on the back, brown sugar for days, also a bit of a citrus kick coming in...grapefruit. Lovely stuff indeed.

Packs just the right punch for when your dad dies, too.

What was your father's favorite kind of alcohol, Pinner? Maybe we could all give the man a toast.

If it was schnapps then you're going to have to settle for a libation from me.

Pouring libation is an older and more sacred ceremony than the toast.
