I found the most insipid list of all time

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey » Mon Aug 13, 2018 9:13 pm

It doesn't start off horribly, but a few PageDowns in and you'll see the one page on the Internet that makes you feel like the smartest person who has ever lived.

This list of the 100 Best TV Episodes is by far the most painfully insipid thing I have ever read in my entire life. Bill Simmons is an irredeemable troglodyte.

One note - they limited a given show to one episode and it was only for the last 18 years.

Other than the obvious terrible shows, and Lost grabbing the #1 spot, I was okay with some of the choices.

How did Seinfeld not make this list, but Keeping Up with the Kardashians did, that's my main concern.

Obvious omission... the episode of Long Island Medium where Theresa Caputo discovers her husband has been having an affair and she didn't see it coming.

Apparently it is because Seinfeld ended in 1998, but that's a dumb reason to make the list.

I can't imagine another adult talking to another adult and trying to convince them that the one episode of Jersey Shore was ICONIC. We give each other a hard time on this forum, but at least we understand that some things are trash.

Right, guys?

Oh, I missed the "of the Century" part. I rescind my previous complaint.

Another old crabby fuddy-duddy making ridiculous statements. Is that what this place is now, and old-folks home for complainers?

There will always be plenty of crap, but the top-end of TV has been so, so much better the last ten years than it ever was previously, that it's not even worth discussing.

God are you people depressing.

Tv blows monkey balls, live in reality.
I used to watch a lot of tv until it got commercial heavy to the point of unwatchabililty. You have no idea of the long reaching impact of rampant commercials. It will melt your brain and make you want to move to Ohio.

They have this thing now where you can "record" TV shows, and then watch them at a later time, skipping past the commercials.

They also have these things called "channels what don't got no commercials".

"Live in reality," he says, while telling us how he's getting drunk every night. Got it.

Are you really calling someone out for being (in your mind) elitist while stating in the other thread that you get fist-punching mad based on how someone pronounces the word daemon?

It's my fault for posting in a thread involving television, something that clearly I have no business doing.

Yeah, cuz they don't disable fast forward for commercials on xfinity recordings.

What? You can fast-forward through anything you record. Sometimes you can't on On-Demand.

ok, you're right, I checked about this with my wife who controls the remote and she says that if you record on xfinity then in most cases you can fast forward through commercials. On Demand often fucks us on fast forward as you correctly mentioned.

I suppose one could mute the box and read Emily Bronte for two to three minutes or something.
