On the off-, off-, OFF-chance I DO happen to lose this bet, anyone have any picks for can't-miss hot sauces I should send him?

1. Because everything is dictated by money and ego, so there's no hope for any of us.

2. This way I win either way. I mean, if he stays in there, well, we're all doomed, but at least I'll have some delicious broth to soothe me before the end times.

Quit voting red or blue for president!
No way dude, we're so far away from there being a credible third party in this country that it's dangerous to suggest throwing away presidential votes on the likes of a Jill "Wacko" Stein or Gary "idiot" Johnson.
Oh go on with that bullshit man. I get so tired of hearing that. If anything it's yet another motivation to always vote 3rd party, write-in, or just punch the blank space. People have the right to vote however they please.

ok, sounds good, let's keep pretending that voting choices don't have immediate effects rather than being some kind of "pretend symbolic vote for changing the political system we've been saddled with since the founding of this fucked up country". Trump is the example of why in our current political structure we should stand up for things we care about by voting for the one of two parties that claim to care about things that are most important to us. Personally, i care about reasonably priced access to health care and background check based access to semi-automatic fireaarms so i'll vote democrat. Sorry Jizz, if you're planning to stay in our country you need to figure out what is most important to you and choose a side that is related to that or else you are literally part of the problem with this fucked up political system.

Well, who do we vote for to change the two party system?

We need solutions. Easy, one-click solutions.

You are missing my point. NEITHER party even claims to care about things important to me. When we do get someone running to be the candidate for either side like Ron Paul or Bernie Sanders people actually want to believe in.. they are just drowned out by the usual, predictable stupidity. I'm not part of the problem. Morons voting straight-ticket are a big part of the problem. Money is big part of the problem.

Let me ask this.. were any of you one of these people who were "shocked" when Trump won? I sure as shit wasn't. The whole process has become so predictable.

glad we agree about the money issue and if we're not talking about president then I certainly agree about straight ticket voting. Just curious, what sorts of issues do you care about that aren't claimed by either party? You mentioned Ron Paul who is a libertarian and Bernie who is closer to a socialist, which of those two would you choose instead of the main candidates in those races?

i wasn't shocked but was surprised that they got the polls so wrong. Hillary was a horrible candidate so I don't think anyone was excited to vote for her.

I was literally floored when he was elected. I think Hillary Clinton is shady and unethical, and thought Trump was unqualified and unelectable. I never would have guessed in a million years that all the disenfranchised people, combined with all the Clinton haters, combined with all the Obama haters, combined with all the traditional Republicans, combined with all the trolls, would be able to come together and elect Donald Trump.

I think the election was a perfect storm that required a hundred different things to happen that might never happen again. And again, I want to stress that I am not particularly pro-Hillary. I just think the difference between them two would be like choosing between eating a plate full of spoiled broccoli, and a bucket full of broken glass.

I don't get it.

Also, I was pretty surprised when Trump got elected. When I got up the next morning, the only thought in my head was "are we really doing this?"

(SPOILER: yes.)

Honestly, issues that probably are not a priority to others. Things like legalizing weed at the federal level and exposing how much money goes into the black budget. I'm also for things like relaxing laws on nudity a bit.

I'd go with Ron Paul before Sanders, if anything because he's for legalization of pot and auditing the federal reserve. He's more of an "isolationist".. something I don't have a problem with at all. The main gripe I've heard about him is he's "pro-life" but I'm not a female and Ron Paul is a doctor, so I don't think my opinion on that really matters.

Flack: I get what you are saying. There was a small nagging part of me that kept going "Eh.. well the establishment will ultimately always win..", but what really sealed the deal for me was when I went to actually vote. For the first time ever I walked straight in and voted and left. This has NEVER happened before. There was hardly anyone there! I think a lot of people in my area, especially democrat voters, just sat this one out.

A "pro-life" stance is more valid if you're a doctor?

When did that happen?
