The real wing question is... flats or drumettes? (As a preference. Obviously you're usually gonna have both.)

Flats because they cook more evenly. Drumettes are merely for the lazy or the untalented.

I prefer the whole damn thing but don't eat the tips.

Often Chinese places have whole whole wings for about 4/4$ I put Franks or Siracha on.

Surely you must have a preference, though. Even 60/40? 52/48??

72% wing, 18% the flat wing, 2% "dealer's choice," or, the crusty skin chunks you can find sometimes.

(does math, head explodes)

Can someone rank the main wing chains from "best" to "don't bother"?

Around here we have Wingstop, Wing Store, Buffalo Wild Wings, and then the normal breastaurants (Hooters, Twin Peaks).

Ooooh, this may not be ... the forum may not survive this thread.

Every place in Rochester can make wings, so like Vark says, you randomly dial digits into the phone and some greaseball slob will take your wings order. 15 minutes later, best wings you ever had.

I don't know if I've done the chain thing. Well, I have had them at Hooters. We used to celebrate at Hooters for lunch at the conclusion of every six-week cycle at work a couple jobs ago. So I have had wings there. They are ... fine? Ben?

Every chain wing place I have been to has been terrible.

I mean, the one that was always the most AGGRESSIVELY terrible was Buffalo Wild Wings. So whatever list ends up being the correct one, BWW is at the bottom.

(Here I am not including Hooters, because they are not really a "wing chain", and are not terrible. They are... what was Robb's word? Fine! They are fine. As long as you order 'em unbreaded.)

I don't really dig the sauce on Hooters wings. Too much vinegar or something.. I dunno there's a weird twang to it. However, they are.. fine? Yeah I've had worse.

My favorite place around here is Ronni's Restaurant. First place I ever tried wings (mild haha) as a little kid back in the 80s when wings were like 20 cents a piece! It was pretty awesome getting to drink beer and eat extra hot ones there when I turned 21. They tried to branch out more but ended up just sticking with the original location. That sucks because it's a pretty far drive for me.

I like the East Coast Wings chain a lot more than BWW. BWW has scrawny wings and I don't know if they have issues with not changing their grease often enough or what but they frequently arrive dry/burnt.

This is exactly my experience, with the added joy of them not fully tossing the wings in the sauce. It's just sort of poured on there, so some wings have little to no sauce, and some are doused in them.

BWW sucks. That's the takeaway from this discussion.
