Any plans for a new-years resolution?

Post by Tdarcos »

So, anyone made any plans for a New Years resolution? And any requests from anyone to someone else here?

Personally, I'd like to see Pinhead resolve to rise above his lower nature and stop being an asshole.

As for me, I have resolved to try to take a shit more often, it feels so good to get rid of that poison out of my system. Maybe I'll post some videos on You Tube.

Oh, sorry, I forgot it's not April 1 yet.

Yeah, we want a new Paul video.

Paul, I'll give you $2 over Paypal for every friend of yours that agrees to let me use a head shot of them in my next computer game. With a limit of $20.

Sorry, I was skimming and saw "Paul" and "head shot" in the same sentence and got excited. Too much Call of Duty around here.

1. No yahoo.com.
2. No caltrops.com.
3. No hard liquor.
4. Lose 60 pounds.
5. Take overall better care of myself, like to the level a nine year old has already mastered.
6. Keep 4xgamer going.
7. No facebook.com.
8. Get back to Gold once HotS is released.

I'm pretty confident about 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.

(Well, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7.)

9. Learn a little more about what the fuck it is I actually do for a living.
10. Don Rogers.

I wrote a post for 4xgamer. In your defense, you didn't specify who had to do the updates.

Oh, awesome! Thanks dude! Good article too. Games of Endless Space take three times longer than they need to because you end up just staring at the planets, drooling.

Here's where I'm at so far. These are not set in stone. Also most of this list was pretty simple to come up with because a lot of it was in the 2012 list of shit I did not do.

##########

Resolutions - 2013

Health and Exercise

01. No Sugar (Cereal, Snacks, Desserts)
02. Limit drinks to: Water (Plain/Flavor), Black Coffee, Unsweet Ice Tea.
03. Exercise: 30 minutes a day/5 days a week.

Projects

01. One hour of writing every morning before work..
02. One picture posted, every day.
03. One podcast weekly (Sunday Morning)

Life

01. Wear my seatbelt.
02. Digitize one thing daily (DVD, VHS, or Book). Throw the thing away.
03. Clean out the garage enough so Susan can park in there.

##########

I didn't get into specific writing goals yet, but I have several books I need to either get finished or get started, so expect that this year.

1. Clean out the "back room" to make room for Bosconian.
2. Cut down on cigarettes, buy an e-cig
3. Finish another IF or 2

How we doing?

Writing More : No.

Program More : More? No.

More Swimming : No.

Girls Are Gonna Be Fun Again : Yes

No More Hate-Reading : Haha, well. OK, sure. Yes. I mean, I took a scatter diagram of baseball pitches that one blogger created and plotted a hand giving the finger on it. So aside from this, it's a yes.

No More Mister Fists In Eyes Waaargh : Yes. I think this is true.

No More Spending All My Money On Arcade Projects : True. No money on arcade stuff yet.

I'm Getting My Teeth Whitened : Not yet.

Back on the 750 calories per day. This has worked well for me the past year but I had gone off it between Halloween and the new year.

Reading more Shakespeare. I have neglected my classics miserably and wish to atone (or at least catch up ) with them.

That's about it.

Our revels now are ended
These our actors, as I have told you
Are all melted into air, into thin air;
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Ye, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind.

File that under 'song lyric infraction'

Starting with the older ones first and working my way into the 1600s, so I may not get to The Tempest for a little while.

Would you be happier getting a new job rather than working at one you dislike?

Or is the complaining a way to relieve stress?

I've had both. Shitty job I needed to leave, and good job that nevertheless wound me up.
