I mean... you put the two UFOs in .... and you have ported Asteroids to PICO.

That means you will be part of an upcoming community and be able to put it on itch.io! You'll be rich... wealthy... financially secure!

A few recent updates:

PHASE SHIFTING: A defensive mechanic, like hyperspace, except it just makes you impervious to damage for a couple seconds (but disables your controls.)

MUSIC: The little doo-doo-doo from the arcade game.

EXTRA MANS: Extra ship/phase shift every 1000 points.

TO DO:
- Some kinda alien, probably not the UFO from Asteroids, probably something slightly different.
- Splash screen
- ??? I dunno, other than those two things, I think it's close to as good as it's gonna get. Maybe add a couple different asteroid shapes for the visuals.

It's HARD. It's a hard version of Asteroids. Which is good. I'm already playing it just for fun.

BTW, I just did a search of other PICO-8 Asteroids games, and this version is so much better than all of the rest of them, I'm shocked, and more importantly, REALLY impressed by what I've done here. Go Pinback, you're the best!

If you don't want to do the UFOs, maybe the aliens from Choplifter or Missle Command?

Which - now I can't find them. I will take photos if you are interested.

Also. One more question. Are you using your own text editor to write the code?

Someone on my stream tonight suggested having COVID-19 come out and attack you, and my friends, that is the best idea I have ever heard.

Nope. Initially you will look at the in-game editor and think "there is no way anyone could use this", but if you stick with it, and really get into the fact that tabbing indents your code one character, it actually gets pretty fun.

You CAN use a text editor of your choosing, just by editing the .p8 file directly, but, it's fun to EMBRACE THE PICO.

(Also, note that the in-game editor allows you to create multiple tabs, for organizational purposes, which is key. If everything had to be all in the "window", it would be unusable.)

618 and I had two phase shifts left.

Is it possible to get another phase shift with certain scores?

I assume you're doing a bit.
This is not a bit.

A PICO-8 game would be neat to have at our launch and I'd be happy & proud, to have you be part of my dream even in the smallest of ways.

Well, I promised Flack that if you were actually serious, I was going to kill myself because I couldn't go on with life, so unfortunately, this will be my last post.

On my headstone, please have the following engraved:

"1. 98% of Retro's interactions with everyone at JC has been him asking them to do favors for him.

2. The one thread where something is asked of him has gone -- and will always go -- unacknowledged."

(You'll need a pretty big stone.)

How about one of those things on cereal boxes that you can take a picture of with your cell phone and it takes you to a promotional game version of the cereal? You could laser engrave one of those on to the tombstone and have it direct the individual to the thread in question?
