Breaking Bad

Post by RealNC »

I just watched the final episode. Good show.

Can you guys recommend something similar to this? I especially liked how every single person in that show, without exception, was an asshole. Although the "crime doesn't pay" ending was a little disappointing, but that's just Hollywood not having the balls for a "crime does pay big time" ending.

1. "Good" is not even remotely the correct word.

2. How do you figure it was a "crime doesn't pay" ending? He died happy, with his one true love by his side, having truly lived for the first time in his 52 years.

3. Hollywood had absolutely nothing to do with the show.

Yeah, it was a happy ending. He managed to kill the bad guys and poison the woman, because "the criminals have to die."

Of course people want such an ending, but I prefer "fuck you" endings, where we don't get what we want.

And to give a concrete example, imagine that in the end, Walter's plan goes wrong and they shoot both him and Jesse. In the final scene, they put them both in a barrel and dissolve them in acid, while Lydia counts the money from the last meth batch.

That would be a kick-ass ending, IMO :-)

I would like people to chime in as to whether or not they liked "Fly." And then I will judge you based on your opinion.

No, but don't start with this episode.

It is absolutely too late for you, but I envy you because you have so much good watching left!

This also reminds me that they started Better Call Saul again. ChainGangGuy, ignore that discussion u--

Do you need the discs? The shows? How can we make it so you spend your time doing nothing but watching Breaking Bad here?

Well, I don't know about all that. But as far as bottle episodes go, find me a better one than Fly.

What's the best way to proceed? Should I just ease into one episode and take it from there or do I need to really hunker down and fight through a few episodes to really get hooked?

The first episode should convince you it is worth your time. Then they just get better and better.

The was the most honest individual episode of television I have ever seen in my life.
