Water city-builders.

Post by pinback »

Within the space of roughly a single month, the number of top-down water-based city builder/survival games went from zero to three:

8/23:
8/30:
9/26:

I've only tried the second one, which looks to be more up my alley (a little more open-world/hardcore/dark aesthetic), but I just think it's odd/interesting that these three came out so close to one another, when before this I don't think this was even a genre.

This post would be more appropriate on Caltrops, but, echh. Y'know?
I don't have to say anything. I'm a doctor, too.

In retrospect, I probably should have posted this on Caltrops.

I wonder if there would be any interest in a new Waterworld game. That sounds like a great way to lose a lot of money or defraud a lot of Kickstarter contributors.

Hey, I wonder if the breakout success of RAFT had anything to do with that? Probably not.
