One normal week

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

All right, everybody go ahead and shut up we're onto the next caper now.

As some of you are aware, there's been some sad shit going down. Everyone's life is in the goddamn shitter.

Therefore I declare Monday January 28th till Sunday February 3rd to be NORMAL WEEK. We're all going to have ONE NORMAL WEEK.

Take the weekend to get weird with it. We report back here in this thread on Monday at 6:30.

Let's begin our Normal Week on this upcoming Monday and have it go 7 days.

Billy asking a reasonable clarification question - see? SEE? We are already headed for normality. Normalcy. Normalitude.

If you add rum and freshly grated nutmeg to your coffee it's technically breakfast. That is YOUR weekend tip!

OK, we're gonna try this for one normal week.

Go to bed at 10:30PM.
Get up at 6:30AM.
6:30AM - 7:05: have coffee with my wife
7:05 - 7:40: get ready for work
7:40-7:50: drive into work
7:50 - 5:30PM: work
5:30PM - 5:45PM: drive home, hopefully I do not get stuck in the garage
5:45-9:00PM: dinner, spend time with my wife
9:00PM - 10:30PM: Cyberganked programming

Let's see if we can do that every day. I feel good about our chances.

I don't understand. I want to understand, but I don't. I am intentionally trying to limit the time I am at work so I have something of a sustainable life.

Here is how it went so far - I believe I contracted the flu.

I believe he is referring to the fact that 8-5:30 is 9 1/2 hours.

Well, after doing everything I could to run that place as well as I could and worry about every little thing that could blow up in our face I got some semi-depressing news, so fuck it, if the job I'm doing isn't good enough I don't give a fuck.

We have failed to have a normal week since the genesis of this thread. I got a call on Friday from the crematorium. They had given me the wrong pet's ashes. I drove over there to get the right ashes. At least it's settled now. (Although the ashes I had haven't yet been picked up by their owner. It is odd to me that you wait three and a half weeks, but nobody gives you an instruction manual for this stuff.)

W...what's the problem on the job front? Asking for a friend.
I don't have to say anything. I'm a doctor, too.

I am trying to get the fridge stocked with Jolt only to be told it's "too expensive," "not easily accessible" and "causes cancer in all known life forms."

I went to a New Year's Eve party at the Arkadia Retrocade and took this:

$2/can at Dollar General, which is high for soda but inexpensive for energy drinks.

Wait, RedBull is $2.50 anywhere in the country you want to buy it. I've had Jolt and theres no way it holds a candle to the energy kick of a RedBull so just pay the extra fifty cents. Jolt is really just an up caffine soft drink, versus a real energy drink that has lots of weird vitamins and herbs that claim to give more energy, and now RedBull has different flavors too.

I gotta say regarding energy drinks: "Thanks" to all the meth addicts in the US for making pseudo-ephedrine and even real ephedrine (ma-huang extract) illegal. I used to be able to go to a Golds Gym and buy an ephedrine spiked energy drink and just pound the fucking weights. Fuck, even "Breathe Easy" tea has had to change to a non working formula now. All we're left with is caffine and some stupid vitamins which don't really give any kind of energy buzz.

When I worked in fast food they used to stock the first aid cabinet with Sine-ese pills. Pretty much straight pseudoephedrine. Two of those little red pills and a big cup of coffee and you could work ten hours with a smile.

The big advantage Jolt has over Red Bull is that the taste they were going for with Jolt isn't that of the inside of a male cow's distended asshole.

Yeah, Redbull is not for me.

I'm a fan of the no sugar/no calorie Monster energy drinks. There are at least four to choose from (red, white, blue, purple) that aren't terrible (orange is terrible). Prices vary wildly, depending on where you get them. At Dollar General, they're $2/can. At most convenient stores, they're around $2.50/can, and can often be found on sale, 2 for $4. At work they're $3.79 each which is highway robbery, but sometimes when you're looking at an afternoon of briefings, it don't look so bad, Ponch.

Well, no normal weeks yet. My good friend and employee quit and we're trying to sell our house. This has meant that I have had to run home to get the cats someplace for showings. No offers yet so we can do this endlessly. Woo hoo.
