Here is a text game of a different sort, but one which I think is a wonderful use of the medium. It's an event-based space colonization game where you guide an AI-piloted ship through the cosmos, attempting to find the best place to settle the last remnants of humanity. Each run only takes a few minutes, and you just try to get the best score you can, while hopefully keeping your sleeping cargo alive.
