You don't mean to but it just happens
I believe that is fair criticism.

Sometimes you go out of your way to start things.
I do not.

It's not that we don't like you.
Is this the royal usage of "we" or did I miss a poll?

I donate blood all the time, it's gratifying to know that you've given a part of yourself to help save the lives of people you've never even met. It's a very humbling experience.
While I was in the ER at Virginia Hospital there was a PA announcement asking those who could to donate blood, I mentioned to the ER doc that I considered donating blood but I realized I can't because I have an infection. The doctor looked at my medication list and said "and blood thinners."

Ick, I don't even remember writing this crap, no wonder you guys don't like me. Truth be told, I've only donated blood twice in my life, both times were for selfish reasons, and the donating experience was so shitty and gay at the same time that I would sooner donate my blood to a bathtub drain than go through that ordeal again. Great to have you back, Paul!

I have noticed that at *most* someone can be part of a forum community for 10 years before they want to tear it all down. It just wears on you.

You seem to have that desire every few weeks instead of years. It mostly goes into my personal notes for mankind, which I am now sharing.

That's bullshit! That just means there's more blood to give!

Instead of cookies, I tried dropping off some of those small Hostess donuts at my local blood center. They people there wouldn't take them, and referred me to a sign that denoted they don't eat donated Donette donuts.

Well I donate urine. It's even more gratifying than giving blood.

Plus the majority of people who donate to blood banks are poor people from the shallow end of the gene pool. It's not the worthless blood drive- photo ops people do once a year.
That's actually not true. There is an FDA regulation that mandates blood to be labelled (among other things) as either donated or paid for, the result of which is that hospitals will only accept donated blood. This is done for both ethical and practical reasons. It's considered unethical to harvest people and the practical side is to deter individuals with blood-borne illnesses. While still frowned upon, this later issue is not as big of a problem when it comes to plasma since these illnesses are removed from the plasma during lab processing, these processes are not viable on blood intended for transfusion.

What is more important is why someone only wants to live around white people; the reasoning, not the race. If someone was subject to dying horribly if another person gave them a blood transfusion containing antibodies of Sickle Cell Anemia, selecting areas where only white people - who are already immune to it - might be very reasonable to be sure most blood donors are white, and thus presently unlikely to have that disease or precursors to it.
That's like me wanting to live near you in case I become a know it all blow hard and crippled, cause you have really good internet and a spare rascal.

Isn't that also your plan if the power goes out?

Re: Is it racist to only want to live around white people?

by Flack » Fri Oct 05, 2018 5:41 am

I agree with this because if I ever need a blood transfusion my plan is to go knocking on my neighbors' doors and ask them for blood.

Jesus no. That's everyone else here, except they are flaming liberals, and won't live in a state where all the bullshit they purport to champion exists. Plus they won't live next to people of color and find black women unattractive. However they call everyone else racist and fascist.
Can confirm Knuckles is NOT someone who finds black women unattractive.
