I wonder if there would be any interest in a new Waterworld game. That sounds like a great way to lose a lot of money or defraud a lot of Kickstarter contributors.

Within the space of roughly a single month, the number of top-down water-based city builder/survival games went from zero to three:

8/23:
8/30:
9/26:

I've only tried the second one, which looks to be more up my alley (a little more open-world/hardcore/dark aesthetic), but I just think it's odd/interesting that these three came out so close to one another, when before this I don't think this was even a genre.

This post would be more appropriate on Caltrops, but, echh. Y'know?
