Can God Lie? Yes He can, and no, He can't.

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
- Titus 1:2

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
- 2 Thessalonians 2:11

----------------------------------
Who was told first of Jesus' Conception? Both Mary and Joseph were told first.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
- Matthew 1:20

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
- Luke 1:27-31

-------------------------
Does Jesus have a home? Yes he does, and no he doesn't.

And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
- Mark 2:15

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
- Luke 9:58
------------------
Can any sins be forgiven? All sins can be forgiven and one sin cannot be forgiven

But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
- Mark 3:29

And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
- Acts 3:39
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
- Colossians 2:13
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 1 John 1:9

-------------------
Just a few from hundreds of samples.

And they're all from the New Testament, so the old chestnut, "Oh, but that's from the Old Testament," won't work.

Let us pray to Jesus in thanks for the perfect and unerring Word of God, which hath no contradictions. Amen.

I don't see the point of that post.

The first is speaking literally, the second, figuratively.

The human being named Jesus had a house, but the infinite, dimensionless awareness which was His (and our) true nature is homeless, because it is everywhere, and everything.

Ah, the Bible. My favorite quote:

Quote:
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.

Exodus 21:20-21 (King James Version)

That quote is even more awesome in the New International Version of the Bible:

Quote:
Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result,

but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.

Bonus quote:

Quote:
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again.

Exodus 21:7-8

You don't really hear much from Christian apologetics on the Bible condoning slavery.

Here's a few more I find interesting.
----------------------------------
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. —Revelation 8:7

And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. —Revelation 9:4
--------------------------------------
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord. —Proverbs 12:22

The Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee. —I Kings 22:23
--------------------------------------
For by grace are ye saved through faith…not of works. —Ephesians 2:8,9

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. —James 2:24
-------------------------------------------
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. —2 Kings 24:8

Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem… —2 Chronicles 36:9
------------------------------------------------

Or here's one I thought about.

You move into a house. You build a bird feeder. Ten months later, you build a squirrel feeder. You wouldn't say "When I bought my house I built a bird feeder and a squirrel feeder."

Okay, so the first sentence of the Bible is "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." Now, presuming "the heavens" is what we now know as "the universe," the problem is that there was a delay of ten billion years between the two, as the universe expanded from The Big Bang about 14 billion years ago and the earth was formed about 4 billion years ago.

It's amazing to think about the fact your typical Christian doesn't even realize the Bible is wrong, starting from the first sentence!
