Wow... I deeply appreciate such such serious and comprehensive thoughts!

there's never any question about the ultimate fate of the protagonist.

There is some question about that in my mind.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't an end message but I suppose it fits the theme of the piece.

The ending move was what the concept was based around. I like it when narrative prose works together with simulation messages, such as the library's standard verb responses.

One Roodylib feature that is used effectively is STATUSTYPE4, where symbols are used to indicate the player's progress. It's a small thing and I'm sure something like it has been done before, but I thought it was innovative.

The first draft that I emailed to Roody didn't have that feature. I forgot to get rid of the score/moves in the status line and to add the game title to the display object. When Roody reminded me about it, I remembered reading about STATUSTYPE4 in the Roodylib documentation, and I wanted to try it out.

Thank you, LC!

Hey, no sweat. I'm a little embarrassed about being so far behind with my Hugo comp reviews to be honest.

I should take this opportunity to thank you for the nice review of "Ice Station Hippo" on the IFDB, by the way. I appreciated that a lot. Once I'm done with the Hugo comp I'm going to write some reviews on the IFDB myself. I already have a few works in mind that are either unreviewed or the review doesn't do it justice. I'll concentrate mostly of Hugo games at first, but right now I'm playing Graham Nelson's "The Reliques of Tolti Aph", so it's pretty high on the list. I know it's not his best work but that game could really use some love.
